What do you enjoy about working in Cornmarket?

The opportunity to continually grow and progress in your career here at Cornmarket is a massive plus. We’re encouraged to keep working toward the next exam, relevant course or whatever it may be to gain further knowledge, experience, and qualifications. Everyone is always more than willing to help you whenever needed and the communication and co-operation between different departments within Cornmarket is fantastic.

What does your typical day look like?

Being a Team Leader in the Health Department, my day revolves around helping my team in whatever way possible. You’ll likely find me issuing performance and targets reports, reviewing metrics, or sitting down with the team to discuss changes in the market. Interacting with my team is the most important and enjoyable part of my day.

What are you most looking forward to in the year ahead in Cornmarket?

This year I’m very much looking forward to getting back to some level of normality in the office environment. While flexitime and working from home are the way forward, it’s still nice to be able to interact with colleagues face to face now and again, rather than just talking over Microsoft Teams or Zoom calls. The social side of things is something that is very much a part of working in Cornmarket, so it’ll be great to get back to attending events organised by the Sports & Social committee. Also, Cornmarket’s 50th birthday celebration is this year, so that is something I am really looking forward to.
