What do you enjoy about working in Cornmarket?
Without a doubt, the most exciting part about working at Cornmarket is meeting new public sector clients daily and educating them on their financial situation. My own career progression is falling into place nicely and I feel strongly that Cornmarket ‘has my back’ regarding my career growth. There are so many avenues for career progression and development within the Life Sales division, growing as an individual contributor within the retirement team or stepping into a management role, there is something for everyone.
What does your typical day look like?
One great thing about working in Cornmarket is that there is a lot of spontaneity in my role and that really suits me. I’m in complete control of my diary on a daily, weekly, monthly basis and I purposefully shape it in such a way that I’m not bored by my day-in, day-out routine. This structure has allowed me to achieve my career goals while maintaining an excellent work/life balance and keeping my mind sharp.
What are you most looking forward to in the year ahead in Cornmarket?
On a professional level, moving up to the final level in my personal 2-year plan to reach the Senior Financial Advisor role seems very probable at this point. I achieved this through hard work and amazing support that I’ve received from management and colleagues. On a personal level, because of the pandemic, I have yet to meet many colleagues face-to-face and this is certainly something I look forward to with restrictions easing. I’m very keen to get out again with the Golf Society and have a bit of craic on the trip to Portugal that I’m fortunate enough to attend as one of Cornmarkets Top Financial Advisors of 2022.
