What do you enjoy about working in Cornmarket?
In Cornmarket I really enjoy the opportunity to shape the future of processes and procedures within my department. I feel like my input is valued and it’s great to have a manager that is always open to new ideas. I also enjoy the co-operative culture in Cornmarket. Everyone is working towards a common goal, in trying to provide financial security for public sector employees. Finally, Cornmarket’s hybrid working options really have a very positive impact on work-life balance.
What does your typical day look like?
A typical day for me involves meeting with team members, either individually or in a group setting. Taking the time to catch up with each team member and keeping the team up to date on any process/procedure changes. When new roles become available, I complete interviews and organise equipment for the new starter, complete their onboarding and conduct induction training for successful candidates.
I am also responsible for analysing stats and performance, providing feedback and training where required. I regularly review our teams progress on core tasks, supporting the team where possible to ensure we are successful in meeting our targets.
What are you most looking forward to in the year ahead in Cornmarket?
As I have plenty of new team members, I look forward to helping them develop their skills in terms of talking to and communicating with clients, while improving their knowledge of our financial services. I am also looking forward to getting to know new staff who have joined in other departments and attending the great sports and social events again!
