What do you enjoy about working in Cornmarket?

I started working for Cornmarket in November 2021 and the first thing that stood out to me was the extensive and specialised training. I was given 8 weeks training on the different sectors of the public sector and how to conduct our financial review appointments appropriately. It was the most organised onboarding I have ever experienced and really sets you up for success. I had never felt more prepared to begin a new role. Another aspect of Cornmarket I really enjoy is the real sense of family and friendship from the staff, there aren’t a lot of companies where you can pick up the phone to the Head of Sales or a senior member of management and not feel like you are annoying them or even get through to them. Lastly, I love the sense of competition that comes with my role. I am a very driven person and Cornmarket rewards this, drives you to progress and do better and to unlock your full potential.

What does your typical day look like?

I am currently working remotely as a Financial Advisor, so my day is typically meeting clients over Microsoft teams to conduct financial consultations. I start by sorting my diary out for the day organising what appointments I have, making sure each appointment is prepped and ready to go. In between each client appointment, I make sure my paperwork is up to date and I spend the remainder of the time calling future clients and filling my diary for the following weeks. I have recently just started going out into the workplaces and have completed my first few presentations. I really feel at home in this role, and I am very excited to move from the Remote Consultant team to the Hybrid Consultant team in the coming weeks.

What are you most looking forward to in the year ahead in Cornmarket?

Cornmarket has a clear progression path, so I am looking forward to working hard and striving towards progression. My role is target based so my personal goal is to keep beating my previous month’s target and try to become the best version of myself, with the help and support of the management team here within the company. As mentioned above, I am also looking forward to getting out onto the road, meeting clients face to face and conducting workplace presentations.
